2023 Assembly Joint Resolution 31
ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: congratulating the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Women's Gymnastics team on winning the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association 2023 National Championship.
Whereas, on March 25, 2023, the UW-Oshkosh Titans Women's Gymnastics team posted a score of 192.525 at the National Championship competition at Winona State University, earning the program's sixth-overall championship, its fourth in the NCGA and its second-consecutive NCGA title; and
Whereas, several UW-Oshkosh Gymnastics team members earned individual national awards and honors including freshman Reanna McGibboney, who led the Titans with two All-America awards in floor exercise and vault; sophomore Mia Lucero, who earned an All-America medal in vault; senior Trinity Sawyer, who earned an All-America medal in uneven bars; freshman Lydia Hayden, who earned an All-America medal on balance beam; and junior Emily Buffington, whose all-around performance and scores earned her an All-America medal; and
Whereas, seniors Adana Amor, Haley Volstad, and Kennedy Springer were all named NCGA Academic All-Americans; and
Whereas, the Titans' second-consecutive NCGA National Championship concludes a stellar regular season in which the team finished with a WIAC Championship/West Region record score of 193.100 and went 6-1 in WIAC conference duals this season; and
Whereas, this season marked the third-consecutive UW-Oshkosh Gymnastics season ending in a WIAC championship; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature congratulate the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Women's Gymnastics team on their outstanding achievement and accomplishments.
