2025 WISCONSIN ACT
An Act to amend 943.13 (2) (am) (intro.); to create 704.96 and 943.13 (1m) (g) of the statutes; relating to: criminal trespass at a campground and providing a penalty.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
SB235,1Section 1. 704.96 of the statutes is created to read: 704.96 Campground occupants and guests. (1) This chapter does not apply to an occupant, guest, or guest of an occupant or guest of a campground or camping resort licensed under s. 97.67.
(2) This section does not affect rights related to individuals in a manufactured and mobile home community, as defined in s. 66.0435 (1) (cg), or rights related to individuals who enter into a campground contract, as defined in s. 707.02 (6).
SB235,2gSection 2g. 943.13 (1m) (g) of the statutes is created to read: 943.13 (1m) (g) Enters or remains on the premises of a campground after having been notified not to enter or remain on the premises or after having been notified that the owner or operator has withdrawn consent for the person to enter or remain on the premises. A law enforcement officer may, at the request of the owner or operator, assist the owner or operator in removing from the premises a person who violates this paragraph. In this paragraph, “campground” means a campground or camping resort licensed under s. 97.67 but does not include a campground under s. 27.01 (10).
SB235,2hSection 2h. 943.13 (2) (am) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read: 943.13 (2) (am) (intro.) A person has received notice from the owner, operator, or occupant within the meaning of sub. (1m) (b), (e) or, (f), or (g) if he or she has been notified personally, either orally or in writing, or if the land is posted. Land is considered to be posted under this paragraph under either of the following procedures:
