1995 - 1996 LEGISLATURE
February 14, 1995 - Introduced by Representatives Baumgart, Wilder, Lorge, R.
Potter
and Boyle. Referred to Committee on Natural Resources.
AB132,1,2 1An Act to amend 27.01 (10) (d) (intro.); and to create 27.01 (10) (i) of the
2statutes; relating to: camping fees for nonprofit youth organizations.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, camping fees for state parks and state forests are
established by statute. These fees range, for resident camping parties, from $6 to $8
a night. Additionally the department of natural resources may charge fees that are
greater than those established by statute. Currently, group camping fees are
established by administrative rule and range from $30 per night for a group of up to
20 persons to a maximum of $300 per night. This bill establishes a limit of 50 cents
per person per night for a group campsite if the group contains 4 or more residents
who are less than 18 years old and who are members of the same nonprofit youth
organization and if the group is camping as an activity conducted by that
organization.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
