AB169,1,2 1An Act to amend 45.37 (3) (b) of the statutes; relating to: eligibility for
2membership in the Wisconsin Veterans Home.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law restricts eligibility for membership in the Wisconsin Veterans
Home to certain veterans. The veteran must be a resident of this state at the time
of admission to the home. The veteran must have been a resident of this state at the
time that he or she entered service, or he or she must have been a resident of this
state for the 10 years preceding the date of application for membership in the home.
This bill changes the 10-year residency requirement to 5 years preceding the date
of application for membership.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
