AB340,1,3 1An Act to create 11.30 (2) (cm) of the statutes; relating to: inclusion of
2telephone numbers on political communications by candidates and personal
3campaign or authorized support committees.

Currently, any candidate who or committee acting on behalf of a candidate
which makes a communication for political purposes must identify the candidate or
committee making or authorizing payment for the communication and the name of
the candidate's or committee's treasurer or other agent.
This bill requires, in addition, that a candidate or personal campaign
committee or authorized support committee acting on behalf of a candidate include
in every communication for political purposes a telephone number where the
candidate may be contacted.
Violations are punishable by a forfeiture (civil penalty) of not more than $500
for each offense. Intentional violations are punishable by a fine of not more than
$1,000 or by imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both, for each offense (a
misdemeanor).
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB340,2,35 11.30 (2) (cm) In addition to the requirements of pars. (a) to (c), a candidate,
6personal campaign committee of a candidate, or support committee that is
7authorized under s. 11.05 (3) (p) to act on behalf of a candidate shall include in every

1communication which the candidate or committee makes or for which the candidate
2or committee assumes responsibility a telephone number where the candidate may
3be contacted.
