3approvals authorizing hunting and owners of firearms.

This bill prohibits the department of natural resources from releasing any
information that identifies persons who hold licenses authorizing hunting or who
own firearms or any information that can be used indirectly to identify or locate these
persons.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1. 29.09 (8g) of the statutes is created to read:

(8g) Release of information prohibited. Notwithstanding s. 19.35, the
6department may not release or allow the inspection or copying of any information
7that is in the possession of or under the control of the department and that does any
8of the following:

(a) Identifies persons who hold or have held approvals authorizing hunting.

(b) Identifies the owners of firearms.
