AB386,1,3 1An Act to renumber 100.18 (12); and to create 100.18 (12) (b) of the statutes;
2relating to: fraudulent representations in the purchase, sale, hire, use or lease
3of real estate, merchandise, securities, services or employment.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
The current fraudulent representations law prohibits untrue, deceptive or
misleading representations that relate to the purchase, sale, hire, use or lease of real
estate, merchandise, securities, employment or services.
This bill exempts real estate brokers and salespersons from the fraudulent
representations law while these persons are engaged in real estate practice.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB386, s. 2 5Section 2. 100.18 (12) (b) of the statutes is created to read:
AB386,1,86 100.18 (12) (b) This section does not apply to a person licensed or registered
7under ch. 452 while that person is engaged in real estate practice, as defined in s.
8452.01 (6).
