AB41,1,2 1An Act to amend 15.497 (2) of the statutes; relating to: membership of the
2council on veterans programs.

Under current law, the council on veterans programs is made up of
representatives from a number of veterans organizations. This bill adds a
representative of the Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans, Inc., to the council on veterans
programs.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB41, s. 1 3Section 1. 15.497 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB41,2,94 15.497 (2) Council on veterans programs. There is created in the department
5of veterans affairs a council on veterans programs consisting of one representative
6each of the state departments of the American Legion, the Disabled American
7Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Marine Corps League, the Navy Club of
8the U.S.A., the Veterans of World War II (AMVETS), the Veterans of World War I of
9the U.S.A., Inc., the American Ex-prisoners of War, the Vietnam Veterans Against
10the War, Inc., the Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc., the Catholic War Veterans of

1the U.S.A., the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A., the Polish Legion of American
2Veterans, the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc., the Army and Navy
3Union of the United States of America, the Wisconsin Association of Concerned
4Veteran Organizations, the United Women Veterans, Inc., the U.S. Submarine
5Veterans of World War II, the Federation of Minority Veterans, Inc., the Wisconsin
6Vietnam Veterans, Inc.,
and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, one
7representative of the American Red Cross and one representative of the Wisconsin
8county veterans' service officers, appointed for one-year terms by the organization
9that each represents.
AB41, s. 2 10Section 2. Nonstatutory provisions.
AB41,2,12 11(1)  The term of the initial representative of the Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans,
12Inc., on the council on veterans programs shall expire on July 1, 1996.
