AB488,1,2 1An Act to create 118.13 (3m) of the statutes; relating to: public school logos,
2mascots and nicknames.

Current law provides that no person may be discriminated against in any public
school curricular, extracurricular, pupil services, recreational or other program or
activity because of the person's sex, race, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed,
pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental,
emotional or learning disability.
This bill provides that the above prohibition does not restrict the use of any logo,
mascot or nickname by any public school.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB488, s. 1 3Section 1. 118.13 (3m) of the statutes is created to read:
AB488,1,64 118.13 (3m) This section does not prohibit the use of any logo, mascot or
5nickname by any public school, regardless of when the logo, mascot or nickname was
6adopted.
