AB635,1,3 An Act to amend 144.235 (3) of the statutes; relating to: a contract to assist small public water supply systems to protect their well recharge areas from contamination and making an appropriation.

This bill appropriates funds to the department of natural resources for a contract to assist small public water supply systems to protect their well recharge areas from contamination.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AB635, s. 1 Section 1. 144.235 (3) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB635,1,8 144.235 (3) State water quality planning assistance; other local governmental units. The department may provide financial assistance for water quality planning activities to local governmental units that are not designated local agencies and to other entities that assist local governmental units.

AB635, s. 2 Section 2. Appropriation changes; natural resources.

AB635,2,5 (1) Assistance to small public water supply systems. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of natural resources under section 20.370 (6) (da) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1995, the dollar amount is increased by $72,000 for fiscal year 1995-96 and the dollar amount is increased by $72,000 for fiscal year 1996-97 to provide funding for a contract to assist small public water supply systems to protect their well recharge areas from contamination.
