AB909,1,2 1An Act to create 165.73 of the statutes; relating to: a hotline in the department
2of justice for the reporting of information regarding firearms in public schools.

This bill requires the department of justice (DOJ) to maintain a toll-free
telephone number for persons to anonymously provide information regarding
firearms in public schools. The bill also provides that on receiving any information
regarding firearms in a public school, DOJ is required to provide the information to
the administration of the public school and the appropriate law enforcement agency
for the municipality in which the public school is located.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB909, s. 1 3Section 1. 165.73 of the statutes is created to read:
AB909,1,6 4165.73 Firearms in public schools hotline. (1) The department of justice
5shall maintain a toll-free telephone number for persons to anonymously provide
6information regarding firearms in public schools.
AB909,1,8 7(2) On receiving any information under sub. (1) regarding firearms in a public
8school, the department of justice shall provide the information to all of the following:
AB909,1,99 (a) The administration of the public school.

1(b) The appropriate law enforcement agency, as defined in s. 165.83 (1) (b), for
2the municipality in which the public school is located.
