1An Act to amend 814.70 (8) of the statutes;
relating to: fees paid to sheriffs.

Under current law, a sheriff receives a fee of $8 for serving any writ or other pro
cess related to the seizure of property and receives a fee of $10 per hour for time spent
doing an inventory of property seized, plus all necessary expenses incurred. This bill
raises the inventory hourly rate to $20.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

(8) Seizure of property; evictions. For serving any writ or other process
4with the aid of the county, $8; and
$10 $20 per hour for each deputy assigned to inven
5tory the property when seizing property on attachment, replevin, execution or evict
6ing on a writ of restitution or writ of assistance, plus all necessary expenses incurred
7thereby.

9(1) This act first applies to any writ or other process served and for any invento
10ry of seized property commenced on the effective date of this subsection.
