AJR100,1,2 1Relating to: congratulating the residents of Waukesha County on its 150th
2anniversary.
AJR100,1,43 Whereas, the county of Waukesha is celebrating 150 years of service to the
4citizens of Waukesha County, having separated from Milwaukee County in 1846; and
AJR100,1,75 Whereas, Waukesha County has had a rich and varied history throughout these
6years, beginning with the pioneer period and the age of agriculture when it was "Cow
7County U.S.A."; and
AJR100,1,108 Whereas, during the golden age of the springs and resort era, Waukesha County
9was known throughout the United States for its hospitality and rich treasures of
10natural resources, including mineral springs and many lakes; and
AJR100,1,1311 Whereas, the sacrifice of generations of Waukesha County residents in the Civil
12War, the Spanish-American War, the World Wars and all of the other U.S. conflicts
13of this century is worth commemorating; and
AJR100,1,1614 Whereas, the wonderful diversity of industry and business in Waukesha
15County throughout these 150 years led to its phenomenal continued growth from
1613,733 residents in 1846 to over 323,000 residents today; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
2legislature of the state of Wisconsin congratulate the government and the people of
3Waukesha County on the occasion of their 150th anniversary as a county.
