AJR64,1,63 Whereas, the sacrifices and contributions of those who served in the U.S. armed
4forces during World War II, including the more than 400,000 who lost their lives and
5those who did their part on the home front, are deserving of commemoration, honor
6and recognition; and
AJR64,1,97 Whereas, November 4 to November 11, 1995, has been designated by the federal
8government as the "Week of National Remembrance and the Closing of the 50th
9Anniversary of World War II; and
AJR64,1,1210 Whereas, the people of the United States are asked to observe November 4 and
115, 1995, as "National Days of Prayer", and November 8, 1995, as "World War II
12Education Day"; and
AJR64,1,1513 Whereas, Veterans Day, November 11, 1995, has been designated as the
14"National Day of Observance and Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of World War
15II"; now, therefore, be it
AJR64,2,3 16Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
17Wisconsin legislature call upon all residents of this state to participate with the

1nation in that observance with appropriate ceremonies and activities, including the
2ringing of the "Bells of Peace and Freedom" by striking all bells 50 times beginning
3at 11 a.m. on November 11, 1995, to signify 50 years since the end of World War II.
