AJR71,1,43 Whereas, Arthur L. Srb began a career in journalism in 1954 and practiced
4fruitfully the art and science of his craft for over 40 years; and
AJR71,1,65 Whereas, Art Srb has done his part to promote the success of representative
6government through faithful service as the public's eyes and ears; and
AJR71,1,87 Whereas, Art Srb distinguished himself as a reporter and the bureau chief for
8the Associated Press in Madison during the past 28 years; and
AJR71,1,109 Whereas, Art Srb embodies the journalistic ideal of the detached observer and
10honest broker of information; and
AJR71,1,1311 Whereas, through 4 decades of unceasing deadline pressure, Art Srb met and
12mastered the challenges of a stressful profession with competence, humility,
13personal grace and calm; and
AJR71,1,1514 Whereas, Art Srb marked his retirement from the Associated Press and the
15Capitol press corps on December 22, 1995; now, therefore, be it
AJR71,2,2 16Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
17legislature of the state of Wisconsin extend to Arthur L. Srb their best wishes for his

1continued success and prosperity, the fellowship of his many friends and a long,
2happy and comfortable retirement; and, be it further
AJR71,2,4 3Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
4resolution to Art Srb.
