AJR78,1,1 Relating to: commending Cyndy Lent.

AJR78,1,3 Whereas, Cyndy Lent completed 509 holes of golf in a 24-hour period on August 7 and 8, 1994, at the Twin Lakes Country Club in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; and

AJR78,1,5 Whereas, she played the golf marathon to benefit the American Cancer Society, Kenosha West Unit, raising approximately $5,000 in pledges; and

AJR78,1,8 Whereas, in the process of raising money, she broke the women's world record for most holes played in 24 hours with the use of a cart and appears in the 1996 Guinness Book of Records; and

AJR78,1,11 Whereas, the 509 holes she completed were the equivalent of 28 18-hole rounds, plus 5 additional holes, and she shot a 3,131, using a number 3 wood the entire time; and

AJR78,1,14 Whereas, this was Cyndy's 9th year performing in the Longest Day of Golf for the American Cancer Society, and she has raised more than $27,000 in previous years; now, therefore, be it

AJR78,2,2 Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin congratulate Cyndy Lent on her world record and commend her for her dedication to the American Cancer Society; and, be it further

AJR78,2,4 Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint resolution to Cyndy Lent.
