AJR90,1,42 Whereas, the Secretary-General of the United Nations has declared that the
3United Nations' cash resources do not meet current needs or obligations and it is
4essentially bankrupt; and
AJR90,1,85 Whereas, instead of initiating major cuts in spending, operations or personnel,
6a number of United Nations officials are embracing the idea of global taxes — to the
7tune of billions or even trillions of dollars — to bail out the world organization and
8dramatically expand the United Nations' operations; and
AJR90,1,109 Whereas, currently the United Nations cannot raise revenues other than
10through financial contributions made by member United Nations states; and
AJR90,1,1311 Whereas, elaborate global tax proposals have recently been advanced from
12within the United Nations and its agencies to extract further revenue from American
13taxpayers and American corporations; now, therefore, be it
AJR90,2,2 14Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
15legislature of the state of Wisconsin memorialize the U.S. Congress to oppose any
16legislation seeking to authorize the United Nations to levy taxes on the people and

1corporations of the United States directly or indirectly for United Nations purposes;
2and, be it further
AJR90,2,6 3Resolved, That the members of the legislature of the state of Wisconsin call
4upon the U.S. Congress to repudiate any United Nations effort to establish new
5international agencies with the power to tax international activities and levy taxes
6on member states' citizens and corporations; and, be it further
AJR90,2,8 7Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
8resolution to each member of this state's congressional delegation.
