AJR94,1,53 Whereas, the 1995-96 University of Wisconsin-Madison women's basketball
4team had their best season in the programs history, finishing with a 21-8 record, and
5set a school record with 10 wins in a row; and
AJR94,1,76 Whereas, the Badger women, for the first time ever, cracked the Associated
7Press Top Ten poll, with a ranking of 8th on February 5; and
AJR94,1,108 Whereas, the fans have shown their strong support for the Badger women
9through their record-setting attendance with an average of 7,884 per game, which
10was first in the Big Ten and 4th in the nation; and
AJR94,1,1211 Whereas, Head Coach Jane Albright-Dieterle brought her team to its 2nd
12straight NCAA play-off; and
AJR94,1,1513 Whereas, the Badger women have many outstanding players; including Barb
14Franke, who earned first team all-Big Ten honors, and Keisha Anderson, who was
15named to the 2nd team for the 2nd straight year; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
2Wisconsin legislature commend the 1995-96 University of Wisconsin-Madison
3women's basketball team for its remarkable season; and, be it further
AJR94,2,5 4Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
5resolution to Coach Albright-Dieterle and Chancellor Ward.
