1An Act relating to: reviewing agricultural services provided by the University
2of Wisconsin System and the technical college system.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the secretary of development to appoint a committee to review
the services that are provided to farmers and others in the agricultural community
by the University of Wisconsin System and by the technical college system and to
identify ways to improve the delivery of those services. The bill also requires the
secretary of development to make recommendations to the governor for improving
the delivery of those services.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

Study of agricultural assistance efforts.

5(a) The secretary of development shall appoint a committee under section
615.04 (1) (c) of the statutes to review the services that are provided to farmers and
7others in the agricultural community by the University of Wisconsin System,
8including the University of Wisconsin-Extension, and by the technical college
9system and to identify ways to improve the delivery of those services. The committee
10shall include representatives of the University of Wisconsin College of Agricultural
1and Life Sciences, of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, of the technical college
2system, of the department of agriculture, trade and consumer protection, of the
3department of administration and of the committee appointed by the governor to
4identify and promote actions to improve the profitability of dairy farms and the
5competitiveness of this state's dairy industry.

6(b) By January 1, 1996, the secretary of development shall make
7recommendations to the governor for improving the delivery of services that are
8currently provided by the University of Wisconsin System, including the University
9of Wisconsin-Extension, and by the technical college system to farmers and others
10in the agricultural community.

11(c) The committee created under paragraph (a) terminates on December 31,
121995.
