Under current law, a health insurance policy (called disability insurance policy
in the statutes) that provides coverage for any child of the insured must provide the
same coverage for all children of that child until that child is 18 years old. This bill
extends the period during which a health insurance policy that provides coverage for
a child of the insured must provide the same coverage for all children of that child
to until the child is 18 years old or no longer eligible for coverage under the policy,
whichever is later.
