1An Act to create 301.037 of the statutes;
relating to: placement of certain child

This bill prohibits the department of corrections from placing or contracting for
the placement of any person convicted of certain child sex offenses in any facility that
is located within 500 feet of a school.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

4301.037 Placement of child sex offenders. (1) In this section:

(a) "School" has the meaning specified in s. 118.257 (1) (d).

(b) "Serious child sex offense" has the meaning specified in s. 948.13 (1).

1(2) The department may not place or contract for the placement of any person
2convicted of a serious child sex offense in any facility that is located within 500 feet
3of a school.
