AB696,1,3 1An Act to amend 447.07 (3) (d) of the statutes; relating to: exemption from
2discipline for dentists who send impressions, measurements or patients to
3dental laboratories for shade verification.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the dentistry examining board (board) may take
disciplinary action against a dentist who engages in certain specified conduct,
including sending a patient or a patient's agent to a dental laboratory for any purpose
or sending impressions or measurements to a dental laboratory without a written
work authorization approved by the board. This bill exempts a dentist from
disciplinary action if a patient or patient's agent or impressions or measurements are
sent to a dental laboratory for purposes of shade verification.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as
an appendix to this bill.
