AB776,1,3 1An Act to amend 39.30 (3m) (a) of the statutes; relating to: increasing the
2maximum amount of tuition grants awarded by the higher educational aids
3board.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the higher educational aids board administers a program
that awards tuition grants to resident undergraduate students who are enrolled in
this state at least half-time in an accredited, nonprofit higher educational
institution or in a tribally controlled college. Students are eligible for grants not
exceeding $1,086 per semester or $2,172 per academic year.
This bill increases these maximum grant amounts to $1,150 per semester and
$2,300 per academic year.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB776,2,26 39.30 (3m) (a) No grant awarded under this section may exceed $1,086 $1,150
7per semester or a prorated amount in the case of a quarter or trimester institution,

1or $2,172 $2,300 per academic year. Grants under this section may not be less than
2$250 during any one academic year.
