Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law requires the state superintendent of public instruction to develop
a school and school district performance report. The report must specify the
performance of pupils, by school and by school district, on the 3rd grade reading test,
statewide examinations administered in the 4th, 8th and 10th grades and the high
school graduation examination. Annually, each school board must distribute the
report to the parent or guardian of each pupil enrolled in the school district.
This bill requires the report to specify pupils' performance on the statewide
examinations by subject area.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
