AB893,1,3 1An Act to amend 343.20 (2m) of the statutes; relating to: requiring the
2department of transportation to provide information to applicants for renewal
3of drivers' licenses on traffic regulations relating to railroad crossings.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the department of transportation (DOT) is required to
provide each applicant for renewal of a driver's license with information on child
safety restraint systems and, as developed by all organ procurement organizations
in cooperation with DOT, information on anatomical donations. DOT must also
provide each applicant who is 65 years of age or older with medicare acceptance of
assignment information.
This bill requires DOT to also provide each applicant for renewal of a driver's
license with information, as developed by DOT in consultation with the state affiliate
of Operation Lifesaver, Inc., on traffic regulations relating to railroad crossings.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB893, s. 1 4Section 1. 343.20 (2m) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB893,2,65 343.20 (2m) The department shall include with the notice that it mails under
6sub. (2) information regarding the requirements of s. 347.48 (4); information, as
7developed by all organ procurement organizations in cooperation with the

1department, that promotes anatomical donations and which relates to the
2anatomical donation opportunity available under s. 343.175; information, as
3developed by the department in consultation with the state affiliate of Operation
4Lifesaver, Inc., regarding traffic regulations relating to railroad crossings;
and, for
5licensees aged 65 years or older, material, as provided by the department, explaining
6the voluntary program that is specified in s. 71.55 (10) (b).

AB893,2,98 (1) This act takes effect on the first day of the 6th month beginning after
9publication.
