AJR131,1,2 1Relating to: petitioning the federal government to support the recommendations of
2Representative Klug's task force on the Badger Army Ammunition Plant.
AJR131,1,43 Whereas, the future use of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, which is
4located between Baraboo and Sauk City, is an important issue; and
AJR131,1,65 Whereas, Representative Scott Klug has headed a task force on that subject;
6and
AJR131,1,127 Whereas, that task force recommended that aids in lieu of taxes be paid on that
8property, that federal support for environmental remediation and the removal of
9unsafe structures be continued, that contracts that authorize use of part of that
10property and the railroad line be continued, that adverse effects on the owners of
11adjacent land be avoided, that the land be used in a number of compatible ways and
12that ownership and management of part of the land be transferred to this state; and
AJR131,1,1413 Whereas, the task force's recommendations are sensitive to the needs of the
14area in and around the plant and are rational; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
2Wisconsin legislature urge the federal government to implement the
3recommendations about the Badger Army Ammunition Plant that Representative
4Klug's task force made; and, be it further
AJR131,2,6 5Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide a copy of this joint
6resolution to each member of this state's congressional delegation.
