AJR17,1,2 2Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That:
AJR17,1,43 Whereas, David M. Demos was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 20,
41951, and died on January 25, 1997, in the line of duty; and
AJR17,1,75 Whereas, Mr. Demos' career of law enforcement work with the U.S. military
6and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department spanned nearly a quarter of a
7century; and
AJR17,1,98 Whereas, Mr. Demos graduated from Greenfield High School and met his
9wife-to-be when they were both working at the Wilson Park Recreation Center; and
AJR17,1,1210 Whereas, he was an expert dog handler, first with the Air Force and later with
11the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, where he worked with bomb-sniffing
12dogs at Mitchell International Airport; and
AJR17,1,1413 Whereas, he enjoyed his collection of model planes, boats and trains and
14belonged to a bowling league; and
AJR17,1,1615 Whereas, Mr. Demos received 11 letters of recognition for his work, was highly
16respected by his peers and was sought out for advice by many junior officers; and

1Whereas, Mr. Demos is survived by his wife, Vivian, and by his 2 children,
2Michelle and Christopher, and his mother, Lenore Demos; now, therefore, be it
AJR17,2,6 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That: the members of
4the Wisconsin legislature salute the many years of devoted law enforcement service
5that David M. Demos rendered to the people of this state, express their sorrow at his
6death and extend their condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
AJR17,2,9 7Resolved, That: the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
8resolution to Mr. Demos' wife, Vivian, to his children, Michelle and Christopher, and
9to his mother, Lenore.
