AJR3,1,43 Whereas, on January 12, 1997, the Green Bay Packers won the National
4Football Conference championship by defeating the Carolina Panthers; and
AJR3,1,65 Whereas, the game was played in Lambeau Field so that the team's loyal fans
6could cheer them on and participate in the victory; and
AJR3,1,107 Whereas, the championship added to the growing list of the team's
8achievements this season; which include scoring more points, and giving up fewer
9points, than any other team in the league, winning 13 regular season games and
10having 4 players selected for the Pro Bowl; and
AJR3,1,1211 Whereas, the Packers represent the highest standards of athletics and are the
12epitome of what professional sports are all about; and

1Whereas, the Packers' success and the personal qualities of their players,
2coaches and staff members have made the residents of Wisconsin and thousands of
3Packer fans in other states proud and more unified; now, therefore, be it

5Wisconsin legislature applaud the Green Bay Packer organization for its
6accomplishments so far, salute the team's fans for their loyalty and enthusiastic
7support and wish the team well as it prepares to win the Super Bowl; and, be it
