AJR50,1,53 Whereas, law enforcement officials throughout the state of Wisconsin place
4themselves in imminent danger on a daily basis to protect and serve the citizens of
5this great state; and
AJR50,1,76 Whereas, this service to the public often requires law enforcement officers to
7give more consideration to the safety of the public than to themselves; and
AJR50,1,108 Whereas, we honor the men and women who serve this state as law enforcement
9officers and acknowledge and appreciate the difficult nature of their responsibilities;
10and
AJR50,1,1311 Whereas, we thank, express our appreciation and pay tribute to our dedicated
12law enforcement officers who have accepted the risks implicit in their profession and
13the critical nature of the duties and services they render; and
AJR50,1,1514 Whereas, it is important and appropriate that we pause to remember those who
15have fallen in the line of duty; now, therefore, be it

1Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
2legislature of the state of Wisconsin proclaim May 11 to May 17, 1997, "Law
3Enforcement Week", proclaim May 15 "Law Enforcement Memorial Day" and
4encourage the citizens of Wisconsin to join in the capitol remembrance ceremony on
5May 16 at 12:00 noon at the Capitol's north entrance.
