AJR61,1,32 Whereas, David Mogilka was born on June 30, 1915, in Milwaukee, and died
3on May 7, 1997, in Milwaukee; and
AJR61,1,54 Whereas, he graduated from Bay View High School in Milwaukee and earned
5a law degree from Marquette University in 1941; and
AJR61,1,86 Whereas, immediately after earning his law degree he entered the U.S. armed
7forces and served during World War II on the Galapagos Islands and in the Panama
8Canal Zone; and
AJR61,1,119 Whereas, after his return from military service he worked for the Veterans
10Administration, the U.S. Bureau of the Census, the Internal Revenue Service and
11the office of the Milwaukee City Attorney; and
AJR61,1,1312 Whereas, Mr. Mogilka was elected to the assembly in 1956 and was reelected
13in 1958; and
AJR61,1,1514 Whereas, during his tenure in the legislature his abilities were recognized by
15an appointment to the joint committee on finance; and
AJR61,1,1716 Whereas, after he left the assembly he returned to full-time employment at the
17office of the Milwaukee City Attorney; and

1Whereas, he was active in many civic, religious, fraternal and benevolent
2societies; now, therefore, be it
AJR61,2,6 3Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
4Wisconsin legislature state their gratitude for David Mogilka's many decades of
5public service, express their sorrow at his death and extend their condolences to his
6family and friends; and, be it further
AJR61,2,9 7Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
8resolution to David Mogilka's children: Paul, David, Gerard, Gregory, Christopher,
9Judith, Susan, Timothy, Cynthia and Henry.
