1997 - 1998 LEGISLATURE
March 4, 1997 - Introduced by Senator Wineke, cosponsored by Representative
Travis. Referred to Committee on Education.
SB102,1,2 1An Act to repeal 120.12 (10) of the statutes; relating to: the use of school district
2property by citizen associations.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, a school board must grant the use of a school building or
other school property to any nonpartisan, nonsectarian, nonexclusive association
that is organized for the discussion of public questions or for the promotion of public
health by instruction in physical culture and hygiene or by physical exercises. The
school board may not charge a fee for such use.
This bill eliminates the above requirement. The bill does not affect the
authority of a school board to grant the temporary use of school grounds, buildings,
facilities or equipment, upon conditions (including fees that do not exceed actual
costs) determined by the school board, to any responsible person for any lawful
nonschool purpose.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB102, s. 1 3Section 1. 120.12 (10) of the statutes is repealed.
SB102,1,44 (End)
