SB321,1,3 1An Act to amend 753.06 (1) (a), 753.06 (3) (a), 753.06 (4) (b), 753.06 (5) (c), 753.06
2(7) (f) and 753.06 (9) (f) of the statutes; relating to: increasing the number of
3circuit court branches.

This bill adds 6 circuit court branches in the following counties: - See PDF for table PDF
The circuit court judges for those branches are elected for 6-year terms. The
terms of the new branches for the circuit courts commence on August 1, 1999.
The bill provides a court reporter for each judge and one additional court
reporter for the judge in Milwaukee County.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB321, s. 1 4Section 1. 753.06 (1) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB321,1,65 753.06 (1) (a) Milwaukee County. The circuit has 46 branches. Commencing
6August 1, 1999, the circuit has 47 branches.

1Section 2. 753.06 (3) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB321,2,32 753.06 (3) (a) Jefferson county. The circuit has 3 branches. Commencing
3August 1, 1999, the circuit has 4 branches.
SB321, s. 3 4Section 3. 753.06 (4) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB321,2,65 753.06 (4) (b) Fond du Lac county. The circuit has 4 branches. Commencing
6August 1, 1999, the circuit has 5 branches.
SB321, s. 4 7Section 4. 753.06 (5) (c) of the statutes is amended to read:

91, 1999, the circuit has 8 branches.

12August 1, 1999, the circuit has 5 branches.

SB321,2,2317 (1) Circuit court branches, 1999. The initial election for circuit judge for
18branch 5 of the circuit court for Fond du Lac County, for branch 4 of the circuit court
19for Jefferson County, for branch 5 of the circuit court for La Crosse County, for branch
202 of the circuit court for Lincoln County, for branch 47 of the circuit court for
21Milwaukee County and for branch 8 of the circuit court for Rock County shall be at
22the spring election of 1999 for terms commencing August 1, 1999, and ending July
2331, 2005.
SB321,3,224 (2) Circuit judge positions. The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts
25are increased by 6.0 GPR circuit judge positions on August 1, 1999, to be funded from

1the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide additional
2circuit court judges for the circuit court branches created by this act.
SB321,3,83 (3) Court reporter positions. The authorized FTE positions for the circuit
4courts are increased by 7.0 GPR court reporter positions on August 1, 1999, to be
5funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide
62 additional court reporters for the Milwaukee County circuit court branch created
7in this act and one additional court reporter for each of the other circuit court
8branches created in this act.
