The text of Engrossed 1997 Senate Bill 321 consists of the following documents
adopted in the senate on February 3, 1998: the bill as affected by Senate Amendment
1 and Senate Amendment 2. In engrossing, the increase and decrease of the number
of circuit court judge and reporter positions, as adopted in Senate Amendments 1 and
2, result in the number remaining the same as in the original bill.
Content of Engrossed Senate Bill 321:
This bill creates 6 circuit court branches in the following counties: Fond du Lac,
Jefferson, La Crosse, Lincoln, Marathon and Milwaukee counties. The bill
authorizes the 6 circuit court judge positions and 7 court reporter positions for these
6 counties. Milwaukee County branches receive 2 court reporter positions for each
new branch.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1753.06 (1) (a) Milwaukee County. The circuit has 46 branches. Commencing
2August 1, 1999, the circuit has 47 branches.

SB321-engrossed,2,54 753.06 (3) (a) Jefferson county. The circuit has 3 branches. Commencing
5August 1, 1999, the circuit has 4 branches.

8August 1, 1999, the circuit has 5 branches.

222 of the circuit court for Lincoln County, for branch 5 of the circuit court for Marathon
23County and for branch 47 of the circuit court for Milwaukee County shall be at the
24spring election of 1999 for terms commencing August 1, 1999, and ending July 31,
252005.

1(2) Circuit judge positions. The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts
2are increased by 6.0 GPR circuit judge positions on August 1, 1999, to be funded from
3the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide additional
4circuit court judges for the circuit court branches created by this act.
SB321-engrossed,3,105 (3) Court reporter positions. The authorized FTE positions for the circuit
6courts are increased by 7.0 GPR court reporter positions on August 1, 1999, to be
7funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide
82 additional court reporters for the Milwaukee County circuit court branch created
9in this act and one additional court reporter for each of the other circuit court
10branches created in this act.
