SB387,1,2 1An Act relating to: the family practice residency program of the Medical College
2of Wisconsin, Inc., and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law provides state funding to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc.,
for the development and operation of a family practice residency program. This bill
provides $181,900 in fiscal year 1998-99 to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc.,
to fund 2 additional family practice physicians for the residency program. These
physicians must be allocated to maximize the number of residents in the family
practice residency program.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB387, s. 1 3Section 1. Nonstatutory provisions; Medical College of Wisconsin.
SB387,2,24 (1) Of the moneys appropriated to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc., under
5section 20.250 (1) (b) of the statutes, $181,900 in fiscal year 1998-99 may be expended
6only to fund 2 additional family practice physicians for the family practice residency

1program. The 2 family practice physicians shall be allocated to maximize the
2number of family practice residents in the program.

SB387,2,84 (1) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation
5to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Inc., under section 20.250 (1) (b) of the statutes,
6as affected by the acts of 1997, the dollar amount is increased by $181,900 for fiscal
7year 1998-99 to increase funding for the purpose for which the appropriation is
8made.
