SB394,1,2 1An Act to renumber and amend 29.22 (1); and to create 29.22 (1) (a) of the
2statutes; relating to: hunting near certain schools.

Under current law, hunting is prohibited within 1,700 feet of a hospital, a
sanatorium or school grounds. This bill specifically defines school as a primary
school, a secondary school or a technical college.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB394, s. 1 3Section 1. 29.22 (1) of the statutes is renumbered 29.22 (1) (b) and amended
4to read:
SB394,1,85 29.22 (1) (b) No person shall hunt within 1700 feet of any hospital, school
6grounds or
sanatorium or the grounds of any school. The department may furnish
7signs designating the restricted area. No conviction shall be had for a violation of this
8subsection paragraph unless the restricted area is designated by such signs.

1Section 2. 29.22 (1) (a) of the statutes is created to read:
SB394,2,32 29.22 (1) (a) In this subsection, "school" means a public or private elementary
3or secondary school, including a charter school, or a technical college.
