SB473,1,2 1An Act to create 115.33 (4) of the statutes; relating to: a periodic study of the
2public schools.

This bill directs the state superintendent of public instruction, at least once
every 5 years, to conduct a study of the physical condition and capacity of the public
schools and their suitability for use as public schools. At the conclusion of each study,
the state superintendent must report the results to the appropriate standing
committees of the legislature. The first report is due in January, 1999.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB473, s. 1 3Section 1. 115.33 (4) of the statutes is created to read:
SB473,2,24 115.33 (4) At least once every 5 years, the state superintendent shall conduct
5a study of the physical condition and capacity of the public schools and their
6suitability for use as public schools. At the conclusion of each study, the state

1superintendent shall submit a report summarizing the results of the study to the
2appropriate standing committees of the legislature under s. 13.172 (3).
