Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law authorizes the owner of a qualified motor vehicle to register the
vehicle for five years for a $5 fee. Qualified vehicles are specified by statute and
include certain vehicles operated exclusively for civilian defense purposes by this
state or a county or municipality, certain school buses, certain motor buses used
exclusively for transporting groups participating in parades or similar
entertainment and other similarly owned and operated vehicles. Current law
specifies that a motor vehicle operated exclusively as a Red Cross blood bank vehicle
is eligible for the $5, five-year registration.
This bill makes any motor vehicle operated exclusively by a federally
recognized nonprofit organization as a blood bank vehicle eligible for the $5,
five-year registration.

an appendix to this bill.
