AB255,1,2 1An Act to amend 118.15 (3) (c) of the statutes; relating to: excused absences
2from school.

Current law allows a parent or guardian to excuse his or her child from school
for up to ten days each school year. This bill reduces the number of such days allowed
to no more than five each school year.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB255, s. 1 3Section 1. 118.15 (3) (c) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB255,1,74 118.15 (3) (c) Any child excused in writing by his or her parent or guardian
5before the absence. The school board shall require a child excused under this
6paragraph to complete any course work missed during the absence. A child may not
7be excused for more than 10 5 days in a school year under this paragraph.
