AB764,1,4 1An Act to renumber and amend 38.04 (4) (e), 115.28 (11) and 343.61 (6); and
2to create 38.04 (4) (e) 2., 115.28 (11) (b) and 343.61 (6) (b) of the statutes;
3relating to: requiring driver education courses to include instruction
4pertaining to organ and tissue donation.

This bill requires all driver education courses offered by school districts, county
children with disabilities education boards, technical college districts and driver
schools to include at least 30 minutes of instruction relating to organ and tissue
donation and organ and tissue donation procedures.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB764, s. 1 5Section 1. 38.04 (4) (e) of the statutes is renumbered 38.04 (4) (e) (intro.) and
6amended to read:
AB764,1,87 38.04 (4) (e) (intro.) No driver education course may be approved by the board
8unless it acquaints does all of the following:

11. Acquaints each student with the hazards posed by machinery and animals
2on highways and provides instruction in safely dealing with such hazards.
AB764, s. 2 3Section 2. 38.04 (4) (e) 2. of the statutes is created to read:
AB764,2,54 38.04 (4) (e) 2. Provides at least 30 minutes of instruction relating to organ and
5tissue donation and organ and tissue donation procedures.
AB764, s. 3 6Section 3. 115.28 (11) of the statutes is renumbered 115.28 (11) (intro.) and
7amended to read:
AB764,2,148 115.28 (11) Driver education courses. (intro.) Approve driver education
9courses offered by school districts, county children with disabilities education boards
10and technical college districts for the purposes of ss. 121.41 (1) and 343.16 (1) (c) 1.
11and establish minimum standards for driver education courses offered in private
12schools for the purposes of s. 343.16 (1) (c) 3. All driver education courses approved
13or for which standards are established under this subsection shall acquaint do all of
14the following:

16animals on highways and by railroad grade crossings and shall provide instruction
17in safely dealing with such hazards.
