AB786,1,3 1An Act to renumber 41.40; and to create 41.40 (2) of the statutes; relating to:
2an agreement to indemnify the federal government in connection with the
3transfer of land for the Kickapoo valley reserve.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the department of tourism may acquire from the federal
government land adjacent to the Kickapoo River. This land, known as the Kickapoo
valley reserve, is to be managed for recreational and vacation use and in such a way
as to preserve its unique environmental, scenic and cultural features. This bill
authorizes the department of administration, in connection with the land transfer,
to enter into an agreement with the federal government containing indemnification
provisions required by federal law.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB786, s. 2 5Section 2. 41.40 (2) of the statutes is created to read:

141.40 (2) In connection with the transfer of land under sub. (1), the department
