AB811,1,2 1An Act to amend 459.04 of the statutes; relating to: personal guarantees for
2sales of hearing aids.

Under current law, the seller of a hearing aid is required to give the purchaser
a personal guarantee that is at least identical in its terms to the guarantee of the
manufacturer of the hearing aid. This bill requires the seller's guarantee to be in
effect until at least one year from the date of purchase and to be at least identical in
all other terms to the manufacturer's guarantee.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB811, s. 1 3Section 1. 459.04 of the statutes is amended to read:
AB811,1,7 4459.04 Seller's guarantee. The seller of a hearing aid shall give to the
5purchaser a personal guarantee that is in effect until at least one year from the date
6of purchase and that is
at least identical in its all other terms to the guarantee of the
7manufacturer of the hearing aid.

1(1) This act first applies to contracts for the sale of hearing aids that are entered
2into, extended, modified or renewed on the effective date of this subsection.
