AJR68,1,32 Whereas, Delmar E. DeLong was born on June 7, 1931, in Beloit, Wisconsin,
3and died on June 30, 1999, in Ocala, Florida; and
AJR68,1,64 Whereas, Mr. DeLong was educated in Clinton schools, received a B.B.A. from
5the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1952, and earned a law degree from the
6University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1966; and
AJR68,1,77 Whereas, Mr. DeLong served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955; and
AJR68,1,108 Whereas, Mr. DeLong served on the Clinton Village Board from 1958 to 1960,
9on the Clinton School Board from 1967 to 1973 (serving as its president from 1968
10to 1973), on the CESA 17 Board of Control from 1971 to 1973; and
AJR68,1,1211 Whereas, he served as municipal justice for the Town of Turtle from 1967 to
121975; and
AJR68,1,1513 Whereas, Mr. DeLong served in the Wisconsin assembly from 1973 to 1982,
14where he was elected minority caucus chairman in the 1975 through 1981 sessions;

1Whereas, upon leaving the legislature, he headed the DeLong Company in
2Clinton, a business previously operated by his father and brother; and
AJR68,2,63 Whereas, Mr. DeLong served as an employer member on the state Board of
4Vocational, Technical and Adult Education (now the Wisconsin Technical College
5Board) from 1987 until 1998, serving as the board's president in 1997 and 1998; now,
6therefore be it
AJR68,2,10 7Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
8Wisconsin legislature commend the devoted public service that Delmar E. DeLong
9contributed to this state, express their sorrow at his death, and extend their
10condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
AJR68,2,13 11Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
12resolution to Mr. DeLong's wife, Darlene; and to his children, Robert, David,
13Deborah, and Daniel; and his stepchildren, Teresa, Sandra, and David.
