AJR74,1,43 Whereas, construction workers play a vital role in our state that is often taken
4for granted; and
AJR74,1,65 Whereas, the particularly dangerous tasks performed by ironworkers make
6possible the grandeur of city skylines and the majesty of modern buildings; and
AJR74,1,97 Whereas, ironworkers Jerome Starr, Jeffrey Wischer, and William DeGrave
8lost their lives working on one of the notable public works projects of our time, Miller
9Park in Milwaukee; and
AJR74,1,1010 Whereas, the 3 were loyal members of Iron Workers Local 8 in Milwaukee; and
AJR74,1,1211 Whereas, Jerome Starr of Milwaukee was a highly skilled, long time
12ironworker and well respected member of the Ojibwa Nation; and
AJR74,1,1413 Whereas, Jeffrey Wischer of Waukesha, a devoted father, was the son and
14brother of ironworkers; and

1Whereas, William "Diver" DeGrave of Kimberly, who loved his family, hunting,
2fishing and his job, took particular pride in his role in the Miller Park project; now,
3therefore, be it
AJR74,2,7 4Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
5legislature salutes these brave men who lost their lives so tragically, and recognizes
6that in doing the work they did, they helped us all to reach new heights; and, be it

AJR74,2,12 8Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall provide copies of this joint
9resolution to Jerome Starr's wife, Ramona, and his children, Anjeni, James and
10Christopher; to Jeffrey Wischer's wife, Trish and his children, Shawna, Zachariah
11and Roland; to William DeGrave's wife, Marjorie, and his children, Miranda, James,
12and Maggie; and to Iron Workers Local 8 in Milwaukee.
