AR33,1,2 1Relating to: proclaiming the week of March 26, 2000, as "Volunteer Fire Fighter and
2EMT Professional Appreciation Week".
AR33,1,43 Whereas, volunteer fire fighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs)
4risk their lives on a daily basis to help others; and
AR33,1,75 Whereas, volunteer fire fighters and EMTs respond to emergency calls at all
6hours of the day and often leave their families and full-time jobs on a minute's notice;
7and
AR33,1,98 Whereas, volunteer fire fighters and EMTs risk their lives on emergency calls
9and are compensated by either a small stipend or no pay at all; and
AR33,1,1110 Whereas, over 800 fire departments in Wisconsin employ the services of
11volunteer fire fighters and EMTs; and
AR33,1,1312 Whereas, the contributions and sacrifices of volunteer fire fighters, EMTs and
13their families often go unrecognized; and

1Whereas, the Wisconsin State Firefighter's Association, Inc., has gathered the
2signatures of 419 fire fighters from across the state to support the "Volunteer Fire
3Fighter and EMT Professional Appreciation Week"; now, therefore, be it
AR33,2,8 4Resolved by the assembly, That the week of March 26, 2000, is proclaimed
5"Volunteer Fire Fighter and EMT Professional Appreciation Week" in the state of
6Wisconsin, and that all fire fighters and EMT professionals who risk their lives on
7a daily basis to help others, and those who have lost their lives, shall be honored for
8their courage and sacrifice; and, be it further
AR33,2,10 9Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall send a copy of this resolution to
10the Wisconsin State Firefighter's Association, Inc.
