1An Act to create 40.03 (2) (v) of the statutes;
relating to: distribution of periodic
2publications containing information relating to the Wisconsin retirement
3system.

Currently, the department of employe trust funds (DETF) publishes a periodic
newsletter that is called the Trust Fund News. This publication contains
information about the Wisconsin retirement system (WRS) and is provided to WRS
participating employes at their places of employment and to WRS annuitants via
mail delivery. The Trust Fund News is not provided to those WRS participants who
are not participating employes or annuitants, unless the participant requests that
DETF include the participant on the Trust Fund News mailing list. This bill requires
DETF to distribute to all WRS participants who are not participating employes or
annuitants any periodic publication containing information relating to the WRS that
is distributed to participating employes or annuitants.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

1. 40.03 (2) (v) of the statutes is created to read:

(2) (v) Shall distribute to all participants who are not participating
2employes or annuitants any periodic publication containing information relating to
3the Wisconsin retirement system that the department distributes to participating
4employes or annuitants.
