SB92,1,3 1An Act to create 16.40 (20) and 20.505 (1) (ng) of the statutes; relating to:
2proceeds from the sale of forest products at Fort McCoy and making an
3appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current federal law authorizes the sale of forest products produced on land
owned or leased by a federal military department. The state in which the military
installation or facility from which the forest products are sold is located is entitled
to a portion of the proceeds of the sale. The state's share must be used to benefit the
public schools and public roads of the county in which the military installation or
facility is situated.
This bill appropriates all moneys received by the state under this federal law
from the sale of forest products at Fort McCoy in Monroe County to the department
of administration (DOA). The bill directs DOA to distribute 50% of the amount
received to the school districts located in Monroe County and the other 50% to
Monroe County for the benefit of the public roads in that county.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
