2on school-sponsored trips.

Current law prohibits a school district employee from receiving for his or her
personal benefit anything of value from any person other than the employing school
district to sell, promote the sale of, or act as an agent for the sale of any goods or
services to any pupil while on school property or at a school-sponsored activity.
This bill allows a school district employee to accept free or reduced-price travel
or accommodations for the purpose of chaperoning pupils on a trip sponsored by the
school district.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB247, s. 1 3Section 1. 118.12 (2) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB247,2,44 118.12 (2) (a) No school district employee may receive for his or her personal
5benefit anything of value from any person other than his or her employing school
6district to sell, promote the sale of, or act as an agent or solicitor for the sale of any
7goods or services to any public school pupil while on the property of his or her

1employing school district or at an activity of his or her employing school district. This
2paragraph does not prohibit a school district employee from accepting free or
3reduced-price travel or accommodations for the purpose of chaperoning pupils on a
4trip sponsored by the school district.
