AB502,1,3 1An Act to create 118.30 (2) (f) of the statutes; relating to: prohibiting pupils
2from using a calculator while taking the 4th and 8th grade knowledge and
3concepts examinations.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, each pupil enrolled in a public or charter school in this state
must take examinations in the fourth, eighth, and tenth grades that are designed to
measure pupil attainment of knowledge and concepts. This bill prohibits a pupil
from using a calculator while taking the fourth or eighth grade examination.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB502, s. 1 4Section 1. 118.30 (2) (f) of the statutes is created to read:
AB502,1,75 118.30 (2) (f) Each school board, and each operator of a charter school under
6s. 118.40 (2r), shall ensure that no pupil uses a calculator while taking the 4th or 8th
7grade examination under sub. (1m) or (1r).
