AB56,1,3 1An Act to create 13.91 (3) of the statutes; relating to: the employment of a

This bill requires the director of the legislative council staff to hire as the
next-hired legislative council staff attorney a person who is fluent in speaking,
reading, and writing the Spanish language and to thereafter employ at least one staff
attorney with those qualifications.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB56, s. 1 4Section 1. 13.91 (3) of the statutes is created to read:
AB56,2,25 13.91 (3) Employment of Spanish-speaking legislative council staff
6attorney.
The director of the legislative council staff shall hire a legislative council
7staff attorney who is fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the Spanish language
8before hiring any other legislative council staff attorney after the effective date of

1this subsection .... [revisor inserts date], and thereafter employ at least one staff
2attorney with those qualifications.
