AR42,1,5 1Relating to: urging the members of the U.S. Congress from this state, Wisconsin
2state legislature, executive branch, judicial system, county governments, city
3governments, village governments, town governments, University of
4Wisconsin System, Wisconsin technical college system, and public school
5districts to work on securing more federal funds for the residents of Wisconsin.
AR42,1,76 Whereas, Wisconsin ranks 49th in per capita total federal expenditures per
7state; and
AR42,1,9 8Whereas, Wisconsin receives $1,388 less per person than the 25th highest state;
9and
AR42,1,11 10Whereas, Wisconsin ranks 45th in per capita federal procurement expenditures
11per state, receiving $512 less per capita than the average state; and
AR42,1,1412 Whereas, Wisconsin ranks 48th in all United States department of defense
13spending, receiving just $298 per capita, compared to the average of $963 per capita;
14and

1Whereas, Wisconsin receives 0.64 percent of $166 billion in federal
2expenditures on defense; and
AR42,2,4 3Whereas, Wisconsin receives 0.70 percent of $271 billion in total federal
4procurement expenditures; and
AR42,2,6 5Whereas, Wisconsin workers receive only $1.8 billion of $271 billion for work
6on federal procurement contracts; and
AR42,2,7 7Whereas, Wisconsin ranks 41st in federal medicare dollars per recipient; and
AR42,2,108 Whereas, more federal dollars secured for this state would help ease the tax
9burden for residents of Wisconsin and would help create jobs and improve
10Wisconsin's economy; now, therefore, be it
AR42,2,16 11Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the assembly of the state of
12Wisconsin request the members of the United States Congress from this state,
13Wisconsin state legislature, executive branch, judicial system, county governments,
14city governments, village governments, town governments, University of Wisconsin
15System, Wisconsin technical college system, and public school districts to work to
16increase the amount of federal dollars returned to this state; and, be it further
AR42,3,2 17Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall send a copy of this resolution to
18the members of the United States Congress from this state, to the members of the
19Wisconsin state legislature, to the governor and the cabinet secretaries of the
20executive branch, to the director of state courts for distribution to the judicial system,
21to the Wisconsin Counties Association for distribution to county governments, to the
22Wisconsin Alliance of Cities for distribution to city governments, to the League of
23Wisconsin Municipalities for distribution to village governments, to the Wisconsin
24Towns Association for distribution to town governments, to the president of the
25University of Wisconsin System, to the president of the Wisconsin Technical College

1System, and to the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators for
2distribution to public school districts.
